You're in NOMA? Switch to L-T, no brainer. Very good school with extremely solid test scores (great in ELA; OK in math), fantastic community with involved parents, and absolutely top notch afterschool activities/clubs offered. Also, quite easy to get into my 3rd grade and quite a few kids transfer in that year (often in your position or from a nearby DCPS that folks have gotten less comfortable with as their kid gets older or folks looking for the SH feed). Also the 3rd grade teaching team (its departmentalized, so you're guaranteed all of them in their subjects of expertise) at L-T is amazing.
+1. This was my kid although w/ a slightly different entry grade. I’ve been amazed by how easy the transition was. We really liked our old Hill IB, but as our kid got older, the cohort of similarly academic peers evaporated. We thought kid was doing fine (and they really were based on assessments), but kid flourished at LT with huge gains in middle of year assessments and a also made a really solid similarly academic friend group easily.
