Many corporations are making massive profits, and have been for several months, although publicly they blame rising prices on “inflation” — which then may get treated as a political issue. If it were simply inflation, they would only be raising prices enough to keep their profits steady and or reasonable ( although I realize that working definitions of those things can vary by a lot.)[/quote]
