At Blair, could experienced parents give some insight into whether most kids take 2 math, 2 science, research/engineering, and then two comp sci or do some choose say algorithms and a math elective or other science elective and not a comp sci class?
Most students take Applied Statistics because it can help with the research paper. Beyond that, it depends on the student's interest. My DC is a magnet senior and says by junior year, the kids tend to either go a bio-chem track or a math-CS-physics track. DC says more do the bio-chem, but DC went math-CS-physics, so DC has taken two math classes at a time in junior/senior year. My DC junior year electives were: Applied Statistics Linear Algebra Magnet Analysis 2A/B (multivariable and differential equations) Quantum physics Analysis of Algorithms (CS class) Computational methods (CS class) Introduction to Networking and Cybersecurity (CS class) Orchestra (all year) A kid whose interests lean more toward bio/chem might take only one math class at a time and select bio and chem electives instead of the CS and physics electives DC chose.
