Yes, you’ll be able to get a pretty penny from a developer, for a while, anyway.  The first one that gets sold and converted, sure.  But then when the neighbors want to sell, they sure as hell aren’t going to get what they could have previously as a SFH. If you were buying a house, would you pay the same to buy a house next door to a rental triplex?

Maybe then a developer offers you market value, and now there are six rental units.  Any guesses as to the value of property on the street now?  Or even down the street as traffic increases?  As schools get more crowded?  If it happens it will spread like a cancer.  When this fails miserably and spectacularly the YIMBYs will just look around and say WELL AT LEAST WE TRIED, and then pat themselves on the back as wealth flees the county.  A stupid idea is still an idea, I guess.[/quote]
