Volvo and MB generally skew toward driving comfort, with Volvo having really great seats, but Volvo infotainment is clunky and behind the curve. BMW skews toward handling and performance. Don’t overlook Acura, which has very competitive near luxury models, or the Genesis GV70/80 models. Both can be had better equipped for less than the Euros.

One of the biggest issues is how comfortable you are with the way the infotainment systems function. Are there still buttons and knobs to control climate and radio or do you need to click through touchscreens?

It might be helpful to share if you’re considering a Q3/X1/GLA, Q5/X3/GLC, Q7/X5/GLE or Q8/X7/GLS. All are at various stages of refresh and new models.

Volvos are not necessarily inherently safer at this point but there are plenty of online ratings available from NHTSA, IIHS and NCAP. [/quote]
