What are all the other 4yos at the school going to do? If there aren't any, that's a problem because no matter what class he's in, he'll be an outlier. If there are others, why aren't they just grouping them together? Even if there are not enough 4s for their own class, they could combine them with another class and make it a 3/4 or 4/5, which is not atypical at a preschool. This school sounds inept if they are simply not offering an age appropriate class and then asking parents to pick on a case by case basis between the 3s and the 5s. This is their job.[/quote]
