I think even the dealership I ended up using (Ourisman Laurel) has started doing markups, although much smaller ones. Maybe they’ve stopped by now, but I don’t know. Reserving it for delivery, as you did, is a great way to avoid markups, but my previous car was well and truly dead and I couldn’t wait. When you take delivery at a local dealership, watch out for things like charging $500 for nitrogen in the tires (Ourisman Rockville again), which you can have done for so much less at a tire shop.
