We got our Ioniq5 as it was coming off the truck from Fairfax Hyundai but this was in April.

Don't know about other manufacturers, but that's true for VW. If you order the ID.4 online it will be delivered to a local dealership for you to pick up, but they can't increase the price on you.

As you’re looking at the ID.4 Pro, I should have mentioned this was a year ago September. I think even the dealership I ended up using (Ourisman Laurel) has started doing markups, although much smaller ones. Maybe they’ve stopped by now, but I don’t know. Reserving it for delivery, as you did, is a great way to avoid markups, but my previous car was well and truly dead and I couldn’t wait.

When you take delivery at a local dealership, watch out for things like charging $500 for nitrogen in the tires (Ourisman Rockville again), which you can have done for so much less at a tire shop.

Previous car died last September. Decided on an ID.4 Pro. Tried Ourisman Rockville and the wanted a massive markup so walked away. Found the car at another dealer and they said no markup but they didn’t have it in stock. It took about two weeks for them to get it in stock.

Nissan Leaf contacted dealer in June, picked up in October MSRP.

Reserved VW ID.4 Pro AWD in mid August 2022

Order locked late October 2022

Estimated delivery Q1 2023

MSRP listed, but VW says dealer reserves right to determine final price
