Put ranking into perspective but make sure kid wants to go there. Our child had doubts and once started looking at the rankings got persuaded by it.
Op here. Our child did get into UVA but choose not to go and now wants to transfer. Hopefully UVA doesn’t take it this into consideration. We are very stressed along with our child. Suddenly when as a parent you get a text that guys I have tried and I am not happy here the college rankings doesn’t matter.[/quote]

I know its stressful OP but the UVA admissions officers are not going to hold a grudge because your DC chose another school. Just have them continue to keep their grades up, and apply to transfer.  Sorry that your DC is going through this, but people do transfer into UVA all the time and I'm sure if they will be happy to have them so long as the grades are where they'd expect.[/quote]
