I advise you to not go to the one in NE DC. I spent 5 hours waiting there (after the person I waited an hour to speak to at SSA on the phone told me I had to go there) only to be told -1. There was no one there who could do what I needed to get done (representative payee) and that 2. I could’ve gone to any location. Good luck. SSA is a total shitshow and I’m still trying to get them to comply with something Fairfax Court requested happen. Even the court said they were notorious for being difficult when I reached out to let them know why there was a delay.
+100. I just stopped by to add that the SSA is a total, complete and utter shitshow! I live in the DMV, but I had to handle an issue regarding my father in an LA SSA office. I was there (unnecessarily) for about 6 hours. Most of the SSA employees that I’ve encountered have a poor work ethic and lack professionalism (on both coasts).
