With the discount, I was willing to try new products. I gathered up Amazon Fresh store brand bacon, and some sausages from a brand that I was not familiar with.  The cashier rang up my purchases, scanned the coupon, then informed me that the products I’d picked were not eligible for the  discount.  I didn’t have time to press the issue, so I left the store with nothing.

My beef (haha) is that if the store is using coupons to lure new shoppers, they need to clearly delineate exactly what the coupons do and do not cover.  I had read the fine print twice, and the items that I chose were right next to each other in the case, so the sausage was from the same store department as the bacon — which the coupon explicitly covered.  My AF coupon experience did the opposite of what it was intended to do.  Since I can’t do a full shop there, I might as well limit my grocery shopping to stores that have everything on my list.  Time to check out the new Wegman’s.
