Looks like 6 out of town for NL 2024
6 out of 26 (if the website roster is up to date), so almost a quarter of the team. NL couldn't care less about developing players, they'll push out players for holdbacks/out of towners/character problems without a second thought. It's a business for them and that's their prerogative but if you're a parent in their program you should always be looking for other options because the coaches definitely are as well.
I think there are 4 out of town kids, two of the Deerfield kids are local even if they don't go to high school in the area. Reality is most of the out of towners (whether NL, ML, and so on) come from areas where there is not a great or large club scene so have no issue with them trying to play on the best teams possible. High school club lacrosse is all about recruiting, if you are looking for development from a club in high school you are generally missing the mark. All the clubs are pretty much the same in high school, all have positives and benefits and definitely can very by age, do your diligence and find the right place. Generally look for the best club (play in best recruiting tournaments) where your child can get meaningful minutes. If not your current club then move on to another club that fits this bill. You can always find a "for fun" club if that is what you want.
