That is very tight because you will have to clear US Passport Control/Customs in Montreal.  I am a bit shocked that that connection time is legal.  I wouldn't feel comfortable with that connection being shorter than 90 minutes personally, unless you have Global Entry.  Even then it's tight.[/quote]

And it's not legal according to Air Canada (who I assume is operating the flights).  I am very surprised you were offered this itinerary as a bookable ticket, are you sure it's only 50 minutes?  This says you need at least 70 minutes to connect International---&gt;US at Montreal (YUL):
