He can take a lesson whenever he wants, doing it this way. Definitely take advantage of everything you can find, OP. There are lots of free lessons available online, in addition to the ones you have to pay for. Take advantage of everything. If your kid isn't interested, don't push it. No one had to tell me to practice. I lived and breathed my music, and the piano was my first love. My mother tried to force my sister to learn to play, because I enjoyed it so much, and she finally realized that if the music is not in your soul, there's no point in wasting your time or your money on it. Either you're born with it or you aren't.
