If you are buying new and fancy- 800 for a crib, 1k for a stroller system, 250 for a car seat, then maybe 200-300 on some clothes for the first couple months and a few big boxes of diapers. Everything else is just noise.

I would add $200 for random toiletries, baby tylenol, first aid stuff.

A breast pump could put you back a pretty penny. I tell people to not open it and keep the receipt until you're 1000% sure you're gonna use it. Sooooo many breastpumps are used only twice. Rent a hospital pump and if you're actually using it then open your pump.

If there is any chance you will want to 3 across carseats that is a whole thing that requires special carseats. Research that and do yourself the favor of buying the right kind from the beginning. [/quote]
