Damn, should've bought low in 2008. Houses are being put under contract in 2-3 days in 22043 especially pimmit with contract prices now bumping over 500k unheard of a year a go.
We lost a house in 22043. We bid $35 over ask and lost it to someone who waived all contingencies (except financing). 8 offers on the house in 3 days. It's a very hot zip right now.
Curious, could you share the price range of the house? We're in the area and possibly selling later this year so have been watching the comps with great interest!
Sure. It was originally priced in the low $800s and went for just over $850, I think (hasn't closed). This was in the McLean pyramid, not Pimmit Hills. I do know that it will not appraise for the sales price--that was clear in the negotiations. We would have had to make up the difference.
So if it doesn't appraise for sales price but someone pays our of pocket to make up the difference, would the next home appraise for the previous one that didn't appraise?
