They are hard, so your kitties may have an aversion to them. I currently use Dr. Elsys, which is very soft and unscented. But it's insanely dusty and tracks everywhere. You can get a large dog crate tray to put under the litterbox and help contain the tracking a fair amount, but not totally. As does the dust. Holy crap the dust. [/quote]
