Buy a round dome and a plastic rug mat thing to put in front.

Dr.Elsey's if you use clay and Oko Cat wood litter (soft). We use the OkoCat and love it. It clumps too for easy scooping.

The pellets are indeed hard but it is the best if you can get them to use it.

OP again, interesting re the dog crate tray. I have litter mats under the boxes but they aren’t helping much. I could try that. The boxes are also open. I think the litter is coming out on paws and not getting kicked out, but I could try lids.

PP here. They are hard, so your kitties may have an aversion to them.

I currently use Dr. Elsys, which is very soft and unscented. But it's insanely dusty and tracks everywhere. You can get a large dog crate tray to put under the litterbox and help contain the tracking a fair amount, but not totally. As does the dust. Holy crap the dust.

I just ordered the Tidy Cat Breeze system (with hood). Fingers crossed that my cat likes it.

I use World’s Best, but a hate how it tracks. I have tried switching to Feline Pine or Skoon but the cats won’t step on anything hard. Is there anything that is soft to the paws but won’t track? It also needs to be unscented.
