The main downside of State is the weather.  It is cold and snowy.  As long as your daughter is okay with that then she'll be fine.  The campus bus system runs like clockwork so it is no big deal to get from the dorms to a classroom all the way across campus very easily.  Also, a lot of students move off campus after freshman year and there is plentiful good quality rentals that students use.  East Lansing has a lot of bars and restaurants, go figure, and it is a pretty cool scene.[/quote]
