Adding a second story. Square footage allows for either 3 beds, 2 baths, and a laundry room on the new second level or 3 beds, 2 baths and a 9x9 4th bedroom/nursery/office. What do you pick?
You’re adding a second floor to a ranch style house? If so, how many bedrooms would remain on the first floor? If at least 1, I’d add three plus laundry to second floor. If you’re eliminating all bedrooms from the first level, I’d add 4 bedrooms total for the home. Laundry on main or basement levels. I’m assuming if you’re adding bedrooms over a ranch style house, the new bedroom sizes and storage should be generous (because you’re doubling the footprint of your home). If not, reconsider your floor plan.
