Actually we live in DC and enjoy a few of the kings on this list. We’ve done puppet shows and carousel at Glenn echo, rock creek park, and some museums (lfewer because of covid than we would have otherwise). I expect museums to become more of a thing now that our 6yo has been to 3 on field trips. We also have a 6 yo. We usually go to the playgrounds in our neighborhood, but friends who live in DC that are more willing to drive on weekends have said good things about the ones in Wheaton and Fairfax that are listed. Friends in SE DC take the kids biking on Mt Vernon trail. The MBT is closer to us so we do that. I think our what we do with kids list is pretty normal - farmers market, playgrounds, splash pads in the summer, play at home, run errands, library, take the dog for a family walk or go for a scooter ride, family movies. Occasionally we do something touristy like a museum or monument/memorial on the mall. We’re going to the zoo this weekend, but that’s not an every weekend thing. We like to keep track of festivals or fairs in the region and go to a few of those usually in the spring or fall. But people come from all over the world to see the sights in DC. We’re not avoiding them just because we live here.
