I don’t think an antidepressant would be a problem for IUI. It shouldn’t make male factor any worse/better - I’d expect it to have no effect.
my husband is on mood stabilizers and currently pregnant via IUI (to be honest that's why we did IUI instead of TI as I was worried about the impact of the meds on the sperm but all the semen analysis for multiple rounds of iui looked good)-- don't see any reason why an antidepressant would be worse
Any discussion of possibility of inherited depression for your child later in life? If so, would you be open to a different donor for IUI?
he's a fully functioning successful wonderful loving adult- he needs constant meds and sometimes hospital stays (bipolar). it may be hard but we'll help our child with whatever known or unknown difficulties they face in life. i have my own chronic health issues, would never want an egg donor instead.
If he sometimes has hospital stays for bipolar, then I would not consider that fully functioning. It’s pretty much the definition of not functioning.
Correct and is very often passed down. Not okay.
The stigma in this thread is bizarre. I once dated a guy with chron's who needed weekly biologic and had occasional hospitalizations due to bad flares- would you all not marry or have kids with someone with chrons or colitis? Or just anyone with depression, adhd, etc,?
