We are at LCTA. It is an app. I haven’t seen a single assignment come home graded on a piece of paper all year. I have seen a few things online when DC brings home chrome book. One teacher said that if kids don’t do well on a test they can take it again. No homework at all. DC is advanced and we are leaving ACPS anyway, but I’d otherwise be pretty upset. I do think the curriculum is interesting and different but damn if I know how it’s being implemented. last thought - I read an article in the WSJ about how upset parents are by the continued use of technology in (now in person) school. So this is a problem everywhere but article didn’t really give reasons why teachers continue to use this. He pre-COVID teaching plans can’t have just disappeared.
I'm very curious - did you see graded work coming home prior to this year? At George Mason, we never saw a single graded paper come home in six years.
We were in a different school (not ACPS) where we saw lots of paper coming home and we had access to grades on PowerSchool. I just don't know how anyone is supposed to know how their child is doing. We don't even have access to grades here. I do 90% of my work on a computer and as an adult have to force myself not to get distracted. How do you expect a child to do this?
