Larry's been an OK governor. This is a pretty big breach of ethics, though. I would not be disappointed if he gets his knuckles rapped over this.
This, he isn't a great governor but far not the worst. He handled covid poorly.
How has he handled COVID poorly? - had to step in March 2020 to order a statewide closure of schools while MoCo officials were hemming and hawing - set up highly effective network of mass vaccination sites that targeted the poorest, most vulnerable and vaccine averse communities first and provided vaccination to everyone, regardless of legal status or even if you were a state resident (probably half of DC got vaccinated at Six Flags) - allowed individual counties to develop and implement their own vaccine programs, none of which were as effective or efficient as the - leader in pushing schools to reopen safely for in person instruction The one negative? At a time of desperation and trying everything to help the people of this state, he misspent $10m because he didn’t fully vet some Korean test kits. You know what Maryland Democrats probably would have done? Given a no bid contract for 4 times as much to a donor to procure test kits that never arrive. When compared to feckless incompetence of Maryland Democrats, Hogan has been nothing short of incredible for the state.
