Actually, I'm one of those who think not everything is racist, and DC has no desire to go to Harvard. BUT, I was reading about legacies and discovered how and why it started.

Ironic that a policy that was used to prevent Jews from getting in is now used by some Jews who are legacies to keep it all in the family.

Just goes to show, that people in power want to keep that power, irrespective of skin color or creed.  Liberals like to claim that white people are upset and scared that their demographic is shrinking, hence the rise of Trump, but seems like some of these liberals also are fine with keeping their elite institutions mostly for themselves.

My kid might apply to a univ in the UK, land of the House of Lords and where monarchy still exists, but they don't care about legacies.
