Went in for my first scan and was 50/50 it was a BO due to a few factors.  OBGYN could find gestational and egg sac but no signs of fetus.  I have a scan scheduled next week for 7w6d and was told to continue medication until “confirmation stand”.

Seems like by almost 7 weeks they should 100% see an embryo with heart activity for it to be a viable pregnancy.  Only incidences of second scans at this point in pregnancy showing different results is on non-IVF pregnancies where patient has POC or another reason cycle could be off.

Pretty frustrated, I feel like it’s just prolonging my misery.  Still have pregnancy symptoms and my hCG is within the normal range for a healthy pregnancy at this point and still doubling.

If anyone has gone through this (and I’m incredibly sorry if you have) what did you do after confirmation?  I’m debating a natural miscarriage, medicated or D&C.  D&C scares me dude to risk of scarring and risk or Asherman’s. I also don’t know if it’s possible to test tissue with BO.  My RE didn’t seem to give me the options until it was all confirmed but I want a plan.   This is my very first pregnancy.  My embryos are untested but not mine.  I am 31-years-old. I had an exploratory saline hysterectopy and there appeared to be no issues.  I did not have a Hysterosalpingogram but I plan to before next transfer.

If you had a BO how many months before you were able to try again?  If you’ve had BO or early MS what option did you choose and did you feel it was best?
