Subway tiles have been around forever.  Agree with PP that installing them vertically or herringbone or something will definitely read more trendy than basic brick pattern.

Are you referring to the second picture?  If so, I agree but I think the first pic looks very clean. I assumed both were zellige (just different colors) but there was no identifying info with the photo so can't say for sure.  If we went with this look, I'd definitely want the color in pic #1 over #2.[/quote]

Yes, the second picture.  I don't like the first picture either, but because it looks plasticky and the particular texture they achieved (nothing reminiscent of a natural material, which at least the second picture has going for it) feels like a very shortlived fad.  But I agree it looks clean.[/quote]
