This is an 8 hour a day job.
This is not an 8-hour-a-day job. I'm the OP and as I mentioned, I have done this exact job in the past and it was not difficult. Also, our long-time nanny works these hours for us two days per week and she has plenty of time for tasks before going to pick up the kids. She finds things to do around the house and is very helpful (including preparing dinner for the kids), we are happy with our set-up. However, if starting over for someone to help with stuff around the house and minimal childcare, we would look for someone with the above-mentioned list of tasks in mind. Our nanny retired right before the pandemic so she could travel, but since Covid threw a wrench in her plans she came back to us full-time and has since evolved to part-time. She is really hoping to be able to resume her travel plans later this year.
