The republicans should take control of their party and get rid of Trump. They won't though because they cannot win elections without both the traditional conservtives AND the MAGAs.
My suggestion was to have democrats pretend to be the traditional conservatives just for the purpose of getting rid of the Trump-leaning nominees. Regardless of how powerful Trump is, if it doesn't translate to seats in the House and Senate, he can't do sh*t. There are enough Republicans that hate Trump and actually have the firepower to stand against him in the Senate/House where it matters. I'm talking about helping them win. Rather than try to win against, say, Mitt Romney, why not just help to make sure he stays. I get that he's not a "friend" in the long run but he's a "friendlier enemy" compared to the alternative.
