I do wish there were more suggestions from the people who want to keep the police out of it, because obviously we can't just let this continue as is. The car jackings, in particular, are terrifying. Originally a reasoned that we'd never be targeted because we drive an old car that looks beat up. But then I saw that today or yesterday, someone got carjacked in Trinidad with a 2007 Accord. I just don't even know anymore. I have a toddler. How am I supposed to keep him safe?

We definitely need better options that the ones we have now. It can't just be "well it's the city, you have to accept it." No one should accept this kind of violence in their neighborhood. If calling the cops is a bad idea, what the heck are we supposed to do?[/quote]
