Love how there are 5 replies on this post. Because this forum is filled primarily with people that know shit about soccer and are not fans of the sport. These same people have everything to say on the sidelines of little Britney’s or Bradley’s game. SMFH BTW, Mbappe is a god. Madrid is a mistake.
This isn't a sports site. It's a parenting site. Of course the posts are going to be drama filled posts by entitled parents with entitled children.
Look they think and are told 9-17 year old travel soccer is “elite”. Hell they think college soccer is a high level. I remember seeing an EPL games(great seats) and flying back here. See Georgetown has a game that is convenient. So we head over and watch. There was no comparison -the skill, speed and passing. I enjoyed the game but it was like going back to algebra after sitting in on differential equations. It’s just a reminder that travel soccer is not elite even in the “elite” leagues. It’s the equivalent of watching your kid play peewee football and thinking you know football. Mbappe’s pace is so good he relies on it too much. Why not right? The elite teams can shut him down(most of the time) and put him in situations that he is uncomfortable in. PSG is a disaster off the field and it shows on the field. They just do not like each other. They need a new manager who can get them playing together. I saw one game where Mbappe, Naymar and Messi had a breakout and were at full pace against two defenders and it just puttered out…that is criminal.
Are you referring to the match against Man City? If it wasn't that match, then these "gods" are overrated. Messi and Mbappe gave up against one player - Kyle Walker. It was embarrassing. Messi, who I was so excited to watch, literally just stopped running and gave up just past mid field on a break away with Mbappe. I wouldn't blame Poch for that.
