Doing anything but a closure is sending a message to the public that it's safe to be on the roads without an essential/medical need, and that's absolutely not the case. Temps started falling dramatically at sunset, and most sidewalks are solid sheets of ice. Even in dense parts of DC, roads are poorly treated and intersections impassable for pedestrians because of the walls of snow and knee-deep slush.

We've had two days (or more) before - Snowzilla in 2016. This isn't as bad as that, but my recollection then is snow started falling Friday afternoon and we werer still off work Monday-Wednesday.[/quote]
