Now that all extracurricular and curricular afterschool activities except team sports are cancelled until January 7, it seems that there is an opportunity for MCPS to require all students who intend to participate in them in the future to provide proof of vaccination in order to participate. Just like the sports teams. Seems this would be a way for MCPS to allow kids to continue to perform (choral, instrumental, dance, theatre, etc.) and play (indoor and outdoor sports clubs) not just the verified group of team sports.
+1 I’d like to know the logic for not requiring it so far.
Because it is an incredibly dumb idea. It’s already a dumb idea that they require it for athletes, since the 100% vaccinated athletes are the majority of kids who currently have Covid. Does MCPS really want to mandate a EUA vaccine for my 11 year old to participate in TV crew? I will be first in line with a lawsuit and I hope there would be many more.
