I am not 100 percent sure if I would need a fence. In some states, you only need one if there's a pool or body of water close by. A few years ago, I took care of a toddler at my house. It worked out wonderfully. I was thinking now that we own a home, I could open up my own business. However, the pay to work at a preschool is awful. I have considered this, but my income would be wiped out with my son's preschool tuition. We would need to buy another car and pay for after-care for my 5-year-old. Maybe I need to accept that now isn't the right time to work. I'll wait until my children are older. It's just so sad, though, because I am passionate about early childhood education. My kids would benefit from being around other children, and having a job that pays me in money would be great! I have worked in a preschool, and I always felt like I lacked enough one-on-one time.
