We just received growth assessment scores in our elementary schools (I'm an APS teacher) but the scores don't mean anything to us. We have NO idea what the cut off passing score is or what is the possible highest/lowest score. I am wondering what admin is going to say to parents who ask. My prediction is they will blame the state and then say we have to wait until the end of the year to see the growth from this school year.
There are links in Duran's email to info about the tests. Is it not there? Usually this stuff comes up if you Google. These aren't uncommon tests. This sounds like an issue on Bridget Loft's plate. Just when I thought my opinion of her couldn't fall any lower....
The test is uncommon and so is the scoring. I hasn't been given before, the test was half as long as a regular SOL test.
Was it adaptive? Are SOLs adaptive tests? We have not done SOLs before (new to VA), so was trying to figure out what my child was telling me about the testing so far.
