Your school PTA is about local issues (need more outside time at recess, teachers need more manipulatives, community/school-wide events such as bingo, fall festival, book fair, spring party, whatever). MCCPTA is supposed to be about county-wide issues facing all students, but they've been taken over during the past few years by the Silver Spring Takoma Park crazies. They only care about East County issues and nothing else. And those who matter no longer respect their opinion. The Black and Brown Coalition has more respect County-wide, so if your interested in all children, get involved with this group, not MCCPTA.
Is it because they are the only ones participating? Couldn’t delegates from other parts of the county form committees on issues they are interested in? I’m assuming these committees are restricted to delegates but I could be wrong about that.
