Yes mccpta is more district related stuff. School PTA is focused on the school. If you want to be more involved with MCCPTA, volunteer to be the Delegate for your school and you'll be in charge of attending the MCCPTA meeting each month on behalf of you school. You'll then report back the updates to your school via the general PTA meetings.
Basically this. You will need to go to a PTA meeting if you want to nominate yourself to be the school MCCPTA rep. The MCCPTA used to collect dues or fees from school PTAs and host an annual dinner but I’m not sure that they do that anymore. They had an embezzlement issue a few years ago.
They still collect fees. A member of a local PTA is automatically a member of the MCCPTA.

MCCPTA is supposed to be about county-wide issues facing all students, but they've been taken over during the past few years by the Silver Spring Takoma Park crazies. They only care about East County issues and nothing else. And those who matter no longer respect their opinion.
The Black and Brown Coalition has more respect County-wide, so if your interested in all children, get involved with this group, not MCCPTA.
They don't care about the east county issues either. They only care about their chosen things.
I know those SS/TKPK people are always going on about these crazy things like equity and educating all children! It's crazy because we really only care about our local W schools.

Is it because they are the only ones participating? Couldn’t delegates from other parts of the county form committees on issues they are interested in? I’m assuming these committees are restricted to delegates but I could be wrong about that.
