They had more players interested than there were teams. How is that a cash grab? Why shouldn't they add more teams if there is enough demand? Putting kids in bad situations and lowering the level of competition so that parents can feel special about their children = cash grab.

What is the purpose of these soccer clubs? They are a business that allows kids to play soccer. More teams = larger player pool = better top teams = more good press = attract more good players. Rinse and repeat.

Parents with kids on 3rd and 4th teams know exactly where their kids stand. They aren’t being duped out of their money.

So your position is that there shouldn’t be lower level soccer teams? Unless a kid is good enough for a top team they shouldn’t train more than once/week on a rec team and shouldn’t be allowed to play fun leagues and tournaments?[/quote]
