Assuming this isn’t not a troll, I was poor kid at elite college and this. Unless you are a hot girl or a star jock, being poor is a scarlet letter at $$$ schools. Also, you don’t have shared experiences (how was Europe last summer, Aspen skiing, Broadway shows, I’m still not rich so I don’t know what they do nowadays but those were all foreign to me). Same. My freshman roommate was a private school girl from NYC. She was truly the sweetest girl ever but sometimes talking to her was like talking to an alien. We just lived such different lives and the lack of shared experiences was foreign (and kind of embarrassing) for me. She invited me to her Upper East Side townhouse once during fall break and I felt like I was living in an alternate universe. It was hard (but also a great experience that I never would have gotten otherwise). [/quote]
