Teams sometimes need to add some extra players to their roster for tournaments. Players on the team could be injured or not available for the tournament, or the coach just wants some extra subs on the bench because it’s 3 or 4 games in two days. Sometimes guest players are brought in as “ringers” to improve a team’s chances in the tournament. In order to guest the player needs a player card which is just registering with US club soccer to verify the player’s birth year and club affiliation.
MSI Classic team players have "cards". (or at least they used to). They used to be carded by one of the national carding orgs (I think there are 2), but then they switched to "internal carding". Your MSI card MAY suffice. The team wanting to use your kid as a guest player will have to ask the tournament if they will accept MSI's card. Maybe MSI has actually worked this out, so teams can get real cards again, since some MSI Classic teams play in travel tournaments. First I would ask the organizer/coach/team manager if you can have a digital copy of your child's card. Then you can see if it is an official card or not. I'm not sure it can be pursued by yourself for just your kid. Maybe, as long as your coach or team manager will sign off on it? Be aware that MSI does have strict guidelines for double carded players on rosters, go to the msi website for the current classic program manual.
