Not sure if the kid is a bench warmer or not, but one thing is for sure is that you’re a complete loser!

Wow, what earned this comment?

OP here,

I am hoping the comment was directed at the person who made the comment about my kid being a bench warmer.

Double check with you rec league person. Some rec leagues don't allow carded players to participate in their league.

Easy way to avoid all of this. Let your kid play on a travel team. Theses days anyone and everyone makes travel teams. Let him get the full experience.

MSI Classic players are carded. Ask your manager and you could get yours. Agree with what everyone else is saying that depending on the level of the team needing a guest and your son's ability, the experience may vary quite a lot. Most Classic teams do very few if any tournaments, usually the in-house MSI one if that, so it could actually be a fun experience for your son in the right situation.

In order to guest the player needs a player card which is just registering with US club soccer to verify the player’s birth year and club affiliation.

So, if my kid doesn't have a club, because he plays classic, can he still get a card?

And then he just tells his friends "hey if you need someone, let me know?"

He can only be carded gor 2 teams so he can’t play for any team.

Just keep in mind some kids and parents will welcome a guest player when they really need another player because they either have no subs for a tournament or only 1. However, Some coaches will ask kids who are better than their bench players to guest, which means there ends up being 3-5 subs and playing time for everyone is reduced. No one on the team ends up being happy.

Huh?

I am not sure what you even mean in this context?

MSI Classic team players have "cards". (or at least they used to). They used to be carded by one of the national carding orgs (I think there are 2), but then they switched to "internal carding". Your MSI card MAY suffice. The team wanting to use your kid as a guest player will have to ask the tournament if they will accept MSI's card. Maybe MSI has actually worked this out, so teams can get real cards again, since some MSI Classic teams play in travel tournaments. First I would ask the organizer/coach/team manager if you can have a digital copy of your child's card. Then you can see if it is an official card or not. I'm not sure it can be pursued by yourself for just your kid. Maybe, as long as your coach or team manager will sign off on it? Be aware that MSI does have strict guidelines for double carded players on rosters, go to the msi website for the current classic program manual.

DS guest played for a couple of teams last year. The team that asked him to play always took care of the paperwork. He also joined a team for a tournament over the summer that did not require cards, just age verification.
