If you have had this, what was the cause? No blood test was done, but definitely not too early to do a home test and that is definitely negative. Also, I’ve been having nausea and mild cramps. I keep feeling maybe it’s my period coming, but then it isn’t. I’m 36, no peri-menopause symptoms, periods are generally very regular varying (if they do) maybe 1-2 days.
First, the list of symptoms related to perimenopause is a long one. And every woman experiences it differently. Oftentimes, the first symptom is a missed period. It’s not like you have hot flashes and then your period starts to become irregular. It’s more like a slow realization that something is shifting. I had two periods in one month when I was 46. Then just as I turned 48, I skipped a period for the first time. I’m 54 now and am still in perimenopause. It would be highly unusual to start perimenopause this early at age 36, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
