Check out Autotrader and carfax.com too. You’re probably looking at a 2014 Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. Maybe 2012 or so for a Camry or Accord. I’m out of state but my neighbor just sold her 2012 Honda Accord XLE (v6) for about that. I think it had 75k miles.
I prefer a smaller vehicle now that my kids have their own. So a Civic or a Corolla would be perfect. I do not need much space any longer. I see good prices on Honda’s and Toyota’s but they are mostly from private sellers. I am a woman & am leery of buying a car from a stranger online. Any good tips?? My best bet would likely be to purchase from a big name dealership, but the prices are much higher. CarMax looks pretty high. Is it worth it to trust a stranger, private party for the best value? As long as I get an opportunity to get the car checked out by my mechanic first?
To me it is worth it. Expect to pay a good 2k extra if you choose carmax or a dealership over a private party sale. Look for a car with one owner who has the title in hand. Can you bring someone who is good with cars? They also have mobile mechanics who can meet you at the sellers house.
