The last thing I want when I come home from work is to be bothered buy a human much less a dog. I need to unwind change my clothes get settled in etc. About four months of completely ignoring our new dog when I come home she is actually starting to ignoring me back! I am thrilled.. My husband thinks I’m a jerk. I just feel I will get her attention and give her attention on my time. Anyone else feel this way when they get home from work?
Does your dog need to be let out or walked to relieve themselves when you get home? In other words has the dog been left alone for a certain amount of time and might need to go to the bathroom? If so, you need to attend to the dog before you attend to your own need for downtime. If not, for instance, if your husband works from home and is responsible for letting the dog out, what you are doing is ok.
