That’s a moronic question!

How? OP said herself she doesn’t want to be bothered by a human or a dog when she comes home.

Actually, she's an example of an excellent dog owner and dog trainer. So many owners want to train their dogs not to greet them, spend money on trainers to train their dogs not to greet them, and fail. Lots of them end up mad at their dogs or even rehome them.

OP is a great dog owner.

Ty! I’ve been actually complimented by strangers on the streets because of my training techniques. I do not allow people to come up and pet her until she is in a submissive sitting position. A lot of times I will put on a, in training collar, so that people will leave her alone and not distract her from me. I follow Caesar Milan’s training! Love him .

Do you mean train him not to jump? Because you can do that.

As far as not greeting - I have to say the best thing is walking into my house with my 2 dogs at the door smiling and tail-wagging.

Who TF would get a dog and not want to be greeted?? It's the most pure love you can ever get! I was so sad when my dogs lost their hearing and didn't realize I was home.

I can hardly wait until you have kids. Maybe you can keep them in a storage unit.

Does your dog need to be let out or walked to relieve themselves when you get home? In other words has the dog been left alone for a certain amount of time and might need to go to the bathroom? If so, you need to attend to the dog before you attend to your own need for downtime. If not, for instance, if your husband works from home and is responsible for letting the dog out, what you are doing is ok.

You are awful. Why did you get a dog. Agree with your DH, what a jerk.

You should not own a dog.

No. My dog’s complete and utter innocent and pure unadulterated happiness at my entrance is one of the thing s that makes pet ownership precious to me.
