I still wouldn’t recommend this. Socially it can make a big difference. I was put in K at the age of 4 with a late fall birthday that was past the cut off. By the time I was in 5th-6th grade, it was obvious how much younger I was than the rest. I was immature and had trouble fitting in. It became worse as I got older. I was the last one to get my license. Everyone else turned 16 as a sophomore and I wasn’t 16 until I was a junior. I wasn’t even 18 when I graduated high school or when I started college. And didn’t turn 21 until my senior year in college.

I noticed as I grew up that I felt more comfortable and had more friends in the grades below me. I connected better with younger kids because I was younger. So what seemed like a good idea when I was young (K, 1, 2) had some negative social ramifications for me over the years. Something to consider. I believe kids do better if they are the same age or slightly older than their peers.[/quote]
