Maybe look for something with a wider leg -- it will cinch your waist and then provide some volume below, giving the illusion of an hourglass figure. Or try a full skirt with a high waist. It's actually a classic fashion shape (the "New Look" that was popularized by Dior in the 50s) specifically because it emphasizes the thinnest part of the waist but adds volume above and below.
