Our nanny is having issues following instructions for our child's food like dietary restrictions and not feeding the same things like nuggets and other frozen thing's. We keep trying to teach her but she seemed to always get confused and also mess up pick up times etc. Just recently she admitted that she has a learning disability that prevents her from learning new things or changing her thinking. She is very nice but we are concerned about the annoyance and even more so a mistake that could harm the kids. What would you do? She didn't disclose this when we hired her and she sold her self on being a fast learner, make food from scratch and thrived on a busy schedule etc.
My response to the bolded would be "how have you worked around that? Is there a way that I can approach these issues that would make things easier for your?" Perhaps she does better with verbal instructions rather than written, or vis versa, or has some systems that have worked for her in the past, like setting alarms. If she's got nothing, or if after trying to change your approach, it's still not working, yes, I'd get a new nanny. The ability to follow instructions is a dealbreaker for me.
