We never did a sole pediatrician. Ours is a family practice. They see adults and peds in the unit. So..never :). My kids also have only been to our dentist. We never did the whole pediatric dentistry hoopla. We started at age 4-5. Neither has ever had a cavity and they are in HS now. Invisalign through a separate ortho who also sees adults.
I have to push back on this. I am sure everybody had different experiences but we took our kids to an adult dentist and I so wish they hadn’t. They didn’t do x rays until maybe age five because kids don’t stay still enough. Then, despite careful brushing and regular dentist visits, they found four massive cavities when he got his first x Ray. He almost had to have a baby root canal. Silly me, I believed the dentist when she said he didn’t have cavities and didnt need an x Ray. Pediatric dentists know how to take x rays of little kids. I’m sure lots of regular dentists so too but still I very much regret not taking my kids to a pediatric dentist.
