As a European who grew up with rabid soccer fans, I peruse this forum but don't understand the intensity of feeling towards children's clubs, coaches' decisions, and soccer life in general. It's not like that at all in Europe. None of your children are going to make it, so you might as well enjoy the ride...
This doesn't really pertain to MLS Next, but the bolded is kind of the point. Everyone wants to make this all about crazy soccer parents, but the problems lie just as much, if not more, with the coaches and clubs. How can you enjoy a ride with constant coaching and roster changes, with clubs merging, reorganizing, and changing leagues on a regular basis? How is a kid or parent supposed to enjoy the ride when coaches treat every U little game as though their careers depend on a win, benching and often ignoring any kid who displeases them? The whole point is that most kids aren't going to make it, but most of them want to get better and play at a level higher than a rec league. A club with good coaches, stability, effective training and decent communication should be easy to find, but it isn't.
